Dr. Natalie MacLeod Schroeder is an occupational therapy instructor in the Department of Occupational Therapy, College of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Manitoba. She is also the Director of the Internationally Educated Health Professionals Hub. An occupational therapist for more than 30 years, she has a passion for teaching and for exploring the foundations of the occupational therapy profession. Being neurodivergent herself, she personally identifies with different ways of being and pushes against methods and modalities that attempt to “normalize” those who experience this difference. She sees occupational therapy as a way of working with diverse perspectives and experiences to bring about participation in occupation in a meaningful and personal way.
